Electrostatic spray painting system can do the pre-treatment and painting of products with length of 16000mm and width of 2m.
Electrostatic spray painting process is as follows:

- Drying oven - Spray booth - Recovery device - Mill screen SPRAYING PROCESS: Electrostatic powder spraying process consists of 4 main steps as belows: Xử lý bề mặt (Pre-treatment) Làm khô (Drying) Phun sơn (Spray Painting) Sấy (Paint Baking)

Details of the process: Step 1: Pre-treatment: The product (metal) must be pre-treated before it goes through electrostatic spraying. Normally, the product to be treated by electrostatic spraying is made of metal. Steel surface will be considered: Pre-treatment aims to meet following requirements: Product is free from industrial grease (due to mechanical processing) Product is free from rust. Product is not subject to rust again while it has not been painted. Formation of a good coverage layer to facilitate the bonding between paint layer and metal.

Because of above requirements, pre-treatment is often done by dipping products into chemical tanks. System of chemical tanks consists of following tanks:
Storage tank for degreasing agent. Cleaning water tank Storage tank for rust removing acids which are normally H2SO4 or Hcl. Cleaning water tank. Storage tank for surface fixative agent. Storage tank for surface bonderizing agent. Cleaning water tank. These tanks are built and covered with composite resin or they are made of stainless steel.

Painted objects are contained in cages made of stainless steel mesh and moved through tanks in priority order using electrical balancing system. Step 2: Drying of product surface before painting

After chemical treatment, the object must be dried before being painted. Drying oven is used to dry moisture to quickly put the object into painting process. Drying oven normally has cubic shape. Object is hanged on the truck and pushed into the oven. Main source of heat for oven is from infrared oven or burner using gas as fuel. Step 3: Painting After pre-treatment and drying, the object is brought into spraying and recovery booth. As electrostatic powder spraying is characterized by the use of painting powder, powder can adhere to the metal surface thanks to electrostatic force. Therefore, the spray booth also functions to recover the residual painting powder which is mixed with new powder for recycle. This recovery capacity is an unique economic characteristic of

electrostatic spraying technology. There are 2 types of spray booth: Spray booth with 1 spraying gun: It uses 1 spraying gun. The painting object is hanged or hooked manually in the spray booth. Spray booth with 2 guns: The painting object moves on the coveyor to the spray booth. 2 guns at opposite ends spray onto 2 sides of the object. In order to implement the spraying and powder recovery, it is required to have an electrostatic spraying device, an air supply system consisting of air compressor and humidity separator.

Step 4: Shaped drying and finishing of product After spraying, the object is taken into the drying oven. Drying temperature is 1,800 – 2,000C within 10 minutes Main source of heat for oven is from infrared oven or burner using gas as fuel.


a. Recovery system: Using filter or cyclone b. Way to use recovered powder: In order to effectively use recovered powder, the powder must be mixed with new one with the ratio of 1:1. If there are foreign matters or charges in the powder, mill screen must be used.
